Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the stownote browser extension and the stownote.com website (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by New App Technologies LLC ("New App Technologies," "we," "us"). By installing the extension or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

stownote lets you stash notes and gift cards at specific websites and retrieve them when you return. Features may change over time. We may add, modify, or remove functionality at our discretion.

2. Your account

You need an account (provided through our authentication partner, Clerk) to use the Service. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of the notes and gift-card information you store ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to store, encrypt, transmit, and display Your Content solely to operate the Service for you. You are responsible for the legality of what you store and for having the right to store any gift-card information you save.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use the Service to store data you are not authorized to possess, including gift cards or codes obtained unlawfully.
Do not attempt to breach security, access other users' data, or disrupt the Service.
Do not use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

5. Plans, billing, cancellation, and refunds

The Service offers a free tier (up to 20 active entries) and a paid "Unlimited" subscription that removes that limit, available as a yearly plan ($23.99/year) or a monthly plan ($2.99/month). Paid subscriptions are sold and billed by Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle's buyer terms. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you may cancel at any time through the subscription-management portal, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

14-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with a paid subscription, email support@stownote.com within 14 days of your initial purchase or a renewal charge and we will issue a full refund of that charge. Refunds are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record, and returned to your original payment method.

6. Gift-card disclaimer

stownote is a storage convenience, not a gift-card issuer or balance service. We do not verify, guarantee, top up, or check the balance of any gift card you store. We are not responsible for expired, invalid, or depleted cards.

7. Availability and changes

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may suspend or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, with reasonable notice where practicable.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, stownote will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, gift-card value, or profits, arising from your use of the Service.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will revise the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
